The Resource Conservationist I position is comprised of an Erosion & Sedimentation/Post Construction Stormwater specialty as detailed below:
- The Erosion and Sedimentation Resource Conservationist I reviews earthmoving plans for compliance with the Clean Streams Law, Chapter 102, Erosion and Sediment Control and Post Construction Stormwater. This position will also inspect open sites for compliance to these regulations and resolve complaints.
Conservation District staff have the option to work from home, therefore they must be able to work independently. Ideal candidates will be familiar with Practice Keeper or similar web-based databases.
The competent person filling this position will hold a Baccalaureate Degree with major course emphasis in Environmental Resource Management, Civil or Agricultural Engineering, Geography and Planning or other related natural sciences. The person must be computer literate and have 2 years related experience or the equivalent.
The position requires approximately 50% of the time be spent in the field in inclement weather and on rough terrain. Candidates should be self-starters and team players.
