- Position Summary
- A Unit Secretary is responsible for performing clerical duties in support of Probation Officers in the Department of Probation Services. A unit secretary is responsible to track and process parole plans, detainers, violation reports, Gagnon I and Gagnon II and presentence investigation reports. This involves entering data into the Probation Department case management program; sending, monitoring and retrieving documents to the assigned Judge; and processing to the York County Prison and Clerk of Courts. Other duties may be assigned by the Support Staff Supervisor, Office Manager and/or Probation Officer.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Track and process essential paperwork created by assigned probation officers including parole plans, detainers, violation reports, Gagnon I and II hearing paperwork, closings and presentence investigations.
- Log essential information to track completion and location of paperwork in the Probation Department Case Management System.
- Complete transfer paperwork for individuals sentenced in York County but living in another County.
- Enter correct sentencing information into the Probation Department Case Management System
- Complete ARD Dismissal paperwork.
- Complete assigned scanning of essential paperwork into the department LaserFiche system.
- Cover front reception area as assigned.
- Complete daily mail run twice daily.
- Complete daily Judge run twice daily.
- Attend monthly unit meetings with Probation Officers and Support Staff Manager.
- Attend all required Probation Services or other applicable trainings.
- Performing related work as required.
- Representing the department professionally to the public.
- Nontraditional hours to accommodate client schedules are mandated as a part of this position.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- The candidate must pass all clearances as outlined in the Child Protective Services Law and a pre-employment drug screen.?
