DEPUTY WARDEN OF SECURITY

WESTMORELAND COUNTY PRISON

Applications are being accepted for the position of Deputy Warden of Security at the Westmoreland County Prison.  The position objective is to manage and ensure the effective operation of the Prison Security Force; to investigate, resolve and correct acts of misconduct and complaints by the prison staff. Job duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring the safety and security of staff, inmates and the general public; ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, fire and safety standards, schedules, supervises and directs the activities of the prison security force including scheduling and approving all security personnel’s yearly vacation, inspects areas of prison building and grounds to ensure maximum security and cleanliness, conducts performance reviews for prison security staff and reviews work ethic, tracks statistical records and prepares reports for the warden and Prison Board as requested, investigates, resolves and makes recommendations on all security related incidents, reviews all "use of force" incidents and makes determination for justification, receives, investigates and attempts resolution of all employee and inmate grievances.

The successful candidate will have an Associates degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice or a related field and a minimum of seven years of supervisory experiences as a corrections supervisor. Must possess a PA driver’s license.
