Dauphin County Facility Maintenance is currently accepting applications for the full-time day shift position of Maintenance Worker III / HVAC. The overall objective of this position is to perform general maintenance duties and major repairs and to provide safety and security within the buildings and grounds of the County properties as assigned. The individual in this position is responsible but not limited to performing the following essential functions: responsible for inspection, operation, preventive maintenance, calibration, adjustment and repair of all heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation equipment/systems and associated controls and components; responsible for diagnosing and isolating malfunctions with building conditioning (HVAC and BAS) systems, by using calibration, pressure, temperature, and test equipment. Responsible for inspection and test of HVAC systems installation of new, repaired or cleaned components, and performing repairs and modifications to HVAC systems to keep them operating safely, efficiently, and for maximum life expectancy, according to directives, established schedules, and accepted trade practices; performs safety inspections to identify fire and mechanical hazards, interprets inspection findings, and determines corrective action; determines extent of repair procedures and accomplishes it by fabricating parts or using new parts; maintains and repairs department equipment; tests and calibrates repaired items to assure adequacy and reliability of repair; checks boiler, gauges and other equipment for proper operation, and makes minor adjustments if necessary; changes air conditioning and heating filters; operates, troubleshoots, and maintains Building Automation System (BAS), currently Automated Logic; responds to emergency situations during and after normal work hours on weekends and holidays as required; and assists mechanical contractors. 

The individual in this position is also responsible for but not limited to performing the following essential duties: changes light bulbs as needed; cuts grass with mower or riding tractor; shovels snow from walks and driveways; sweeps sidewalks as needed; paints buildings, fixtures, and other objects as required; operates hand and power tools as needed to perform minor repairs; performs carpentry duties as assigned; landscapes grounds; assists mechanical contractors; and works on HVAC equipment.
Graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program plus some technical training in electricity, plumbing, Valid PA CDL License if assigned to operate heavy equipment. Must possess an HVAC License.
2-4 years of working experience in maintenance or custodial environment.
Assists with setting up and cleaning for special events. Performs errands as needed. Performs other job related duties as required.
Must possess knowledge of the methods, tools and practices used in general maintenance and repair work.
Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and a willingness to travel to perform assignments as needed.
