Facilities Manager (2nd Shift)

The County of Berks is seeking qualified applicants for a Facilities Manager. This position includes scheduling, assigning, and overseeing the daily duties of general Maintenance employees and specialized (craftsmen/licensed) Maintenance employees.  Evaluates staff performance through assignments, reviews assigned work for accuracy, provides training and assistance when difficult and unusual problems arise, and appropriately recommends hiring, promotion and disciplinary actions. Evaluating staffing needs, including carrying-out the hiring and termination processes. Coordinating and overseeing repairs and renovation projects in the downtown facilities.  Meeting with internal departments to evaluate and assess requests for improvement.  Developing improvement project cost estimates when required, and inventory and restocking custodial and maintenance supplies for all downtown buildings and north campus. Managing and monitoring the budget for new equipment and supplies. Utilizing County financial software to enter and track requisitions for goods, materials and services in strict compliance with the County’s procedural and statutory procurement requirements.

Position requires a minimum of ten years experience and graduation from an accredited Trade school.
